Definitely not a new concept for tech stores -- ahem Apple Store; but the Intel Experience store in New York sure looks cool. So far New York, Chicago and Los Angeles are cities with Intel Experience stores. Someone tell the folks over at Intel that we'd love an Intel Experience store in Atlanta!

No Kill Switch For Stolen Smartphones
Unfortunately not everyone thinks a "kill switch" is the answer to this problem:
[District Attorney George Gascon said Monday that AT&T Inc., Verizon Wireless, United States Cellular Corp., Sprint Corp. and T-Mobile US Inc. rebuffed Samsung's proposal to preload its phones with Absolute LoJack anti-theft software as a standard feature.
The wireless industry says a kill switch isn't the answer because it could allow a hacker to disable someone's phone.
Gascon, New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman and other law enforcement officials have been demanding that manufacturers create kill switches to combat surging smartphone theft across the country.
Almost 1 in 3 U.S. robberies involve phone theft, according to the Federal Communications Commission. Lost and stolen mobile devices _ mostly smartphones _ cost consumers more than $30 billion last year, according to a study cited by Schneiderman in June.]source:idahostatejournal.com

F.C.C Seeks Major Upgrade To Telephone Systems

[The chairman of the Federal Communications Commission said on Tuesday that the agency would begin “a diverse set of experiments” next year that would begin to move the nation’s telephone system from its century-old network of circuits, switches and copper wires to one that transmits phone calls in a manner similar to that used for Internet data.
The Internet-based systems allow more information to be transmitted at one time, making possible the addition of video to phone calls, as employed by services like Skype and Vonage. While consumers can already use those services, most of the legacy telephone networks still use analog technology, employing an out-of-date system of physical switches that is expensive to keep operating.
Those old networks make possible what is known in the communications industry as Plain Old Telephone Service, or POTS, and they use types of switches that in many cases are no longer manufactured, telephone company executives say. The outdated switches limit the ability of companies to expand the networks to carry more traffic and impede a company’s ability to refurbish equipment.]source: nytimes.com

Apple's Furturistic Marvel

It's the Apple Campus 2 Project which media outlets are referring to as the "spaceship headquarters" because of it's flying saucer-esque design.
The model of the project is nothing short of coolness but I think Apple should sweeten the things up by providing us with a 3D virtual tour using something like SecondLife -- just an idea.
