VS Technologies has filed suit against Twitter for infringing on it's patent; United States patent no. 6,408,309 ("the 309 Patent"). VS Technologies received the patent back in 2002 and Twitter publicly launched in 2006 so the question is why are we just now hearing about this patent infringement now? According to the document, "As it pertains to this lawsuit, very generally speaking, the ’309 Patent discloses methods and systems for creating interactive, virtual communities of people in various fields of endeavor wherein each community member has an interactive, personal profile containing information about that member."
